Timber Timbre is exclusively premiering the video for Beat The Drum Slowly, stunningly animated by Chad VanGaalen, via TIME. The track kicks off their seductive, inviting…and deeply creepy (NPR) new album, Hot Dreams, out today on Arts & Crafts. See below for full North American tour dates, including a newly announced West Coast run in June.
The new tour dates follow the recent announcement of three big shows in Canada over the spring and summer months. Timber Timbre will inaugurate Live At Massey Hall, a brand new concert and film event at the historic Toronto venue, with a special headline performance on May 23, supported by label-mate Cold Specks. The four-piece will bring its taut and transportive live show to Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom in June amidst a run of Western US and Canadian dates, finally landing at Montreal's Metropolis and Quebec City's Le Cercle in September.
With Hot Dreams, Taylor Kirk and Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across Timber Timbre's ever-evolving palette, connecting arid western to plodding horror with the pomp of Hollywood phantasm. Hot Dreams is the follow-up to 2011's Polaris Music Prize short-listed and JUNO Award-winning Creep On Creepin' On, which was hailed for its black humour and spectral beauty (The Guardian) and possessed…a style all its own (Pitchfork). Billboard named Timber Timbre one of 10 to Watch at SXSW and said Hot Dreams sounds like Nick Cave soundtracking a romantic date night. Esquire said it will turn your day into the opening credits of a black-and-white art flick in all the best ways. In the UK, The Guardian called it a smoky, Lynchian treat in a glowing 5/5-star review.
Tickets for the tour are on-sale now.
