AVAILABLE IN CANADA ON APRIL 22nd
It has been a bumpy eighteen months for Netherlands band MTT singer Anne Broekman. A time when feelings of anxiety, euphoria, fear, hope and estrangement were all competing for primacy. Inspired by horror films, literature and ancient tales, she merged all these emotions into eleven highly personal songs for the band’s second full-length album, Years From Now.
Along with drummer Jos Terlingen and producer Maarten Besseling, she takes you on an emotional journey where the passing of time goes hand in hand with feelings of melancholy. This all is put to music in a rigorous combination of deep bass, spacey synths and minimal beats.
The title track is currently streaming on Soundcloud, and the first video for a track called Water was also released recently. Broekman explains Water is about how things change and you lose your way until you don’t recognize the land you live in or your surroundings. It excludes you, estranges you.
Years From Now will be released in Canada on April 22nd and distributed by Fontana North, and released in the Benelux on April 1st via Fishermann Records. The band will hit Canada with a set of shows surrounding their appearance at Canadian Music Week.
