After playing numerous Montreal gigs and festivals (OUMF, M pour Montreal, etc.), Pif Paf Hangover is now ready to unveil their very first album. Out on March 18th via The Good People Records, Curry Love is a marvellous mix of indie, pop, rock and electro.
The official launch will take place at the Cabaret du Mile End on Thursday, March 20th. The show will be a celebration of springtime under the artistic direction of Jerry Pigeon. You can stream the song Whatever Works now!
Four guys, originally from the north (but not too far north) didn't know each other back then, but their lives began to mix and not with a little spoon, but a shaker. After six years of fiddling with studio recordings and live improvisations, these nightlife superstars finally decided to form a band: Pif Paf Hangover. In 2009, Pif Paf Hangover packed up their bags and their freshly recorded Ep and moved to Montreal.
Their motto? Perform every gig like its the very last one. Together, Frank, Gab, Manu and Maxo form are an inspired explosion of musicality. The band is a fresh, spicy cocktail that makes everyone get up and dance.
Curry Love was co-produced by Pif Paf Hangover and David Laurendeau, who won the award of Sound Engineer of the Year at the 2012 L'ADISQ Gala and was recorded at Cerantola Studio. Among the collaborators on this new opus are cellist Marianne Houle (of Montreal band Monogrenade) and singers Audrey Emery, Amylie, Myëlle and Warren Slim Williams.
